A frenulum is a small piece of tissue that connects the upper and lower lip to the gum. Sometimes, depending on size and location, this small tissue may impact tooth position and speech.
We are happy to offer this simple surgical procedure at our office, where we can cut this to relieve any problems it may be causing. The procedure itself is short with minimal post-operative discomfort.
We will work with an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon to determine the best possible route to expose and bond your child’s impacted canine tooth. Whether at our office or at the office of the surgeon, the expose & bond surgery allows for the impacted tooth below the bone to start to get pulled into ideal position.
Together with orthodontic braces, we can work to guide teeth to their ideal position for a perfect smile.
